This four-page newspaper was published on Monday, March 1, 1779 (issue number 8969) in Edinburgh, Scotland. A large portion of the issue is dedicated to reports from the British military involved in conflicts with the colonists in Georgia during December, 1778 and January, 1779. Most of the reports are in the form of transcribed letters primarily from Lieutenant-Colonel Archibald Campbell of the 71st Regiment to Lord George Germaine. Aside from the accounts of troop movements and encounters with resistance, there are inventories from conflicts including lists of supplies used, numbers of casualties, numbers of prisoner returns, and the names of British officers killed or wounded.
